Judgment and execution
A decision that remains clear after the meeting.
A technical decision must retain enough context to be implemented, evaluated and revised when its conditions change.
Understand the problem
Identify the required outcome, the people affected and the constraints. Separate observations from assumptions. Recognize what information is missing and how much it matters to the decision.
Compare viable options
Include keeping the current situation as an option. Compare total cost, time, risk, maintenance and the ability to change direction. An alternative is better only in relation to explicit criteria.
Agree on execution with a recovery plan
Define who decides, who implements and what must keep working. Establish steps, acceptance criteria and actions to take if the outcome differs from expectations.
Verify and transfer knowledge
Compare the outcome with the initial state. Record unexpected effects and revisit the decision when necessary. Give the team the context and means to continue without unnecessary dependence.
